Since the Word ‘but’ places contrast on what’s mentioned previously in a sentence, why did it never place contrast on water baptism in Matt 13:11, Mark 1:8, Lk 3:16, John 1:33, Acts 1:5 that makes two baptisms Violating ONE baptism (Eph 4:5)?
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Ephesians 4:5
Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
There are three baptisms: water, Holy Ghost, fire. Water baptism is a public witness of acknowledging God and your sins against him (repentance). The baptism of the Holy Spirit is salvation, the Spirit of God indwells the believer and seals him.
Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
The baptism of fire is to be thrown into the lake of fire.
The one baptism of Ephesians 4:5 is the is that of the Spirit unto salvation.
Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
1 Corinthians 8:5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
The context of Ephesians 4:5 is eternal salvation. Concerning this, there is but one Lord (Christ Jesus), one faith (that Christ died for our sins), and one baptism (baptism of the Holy Spirit).
