Walk with God

What does it truly mean to walk with God in the 21st century, just as Enoch did in Genesis 5:24?

It is to put God, Christ, and service first in your life. The Christian life is:

  • Service
  • Sacrifice
  • Suffering

We are to make whatever sacrifice is necessary in serving, and to suffer whatever consequences that arise from that service. Read and diligently study God’s word. Even if what is done is right, if not done because God has said so, it glorifies self and not God. Anything that does not glorify God is sin.

1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Walking with God demands a boldness that only faith can provide. The stronger your faith, the bolder, more courageous, and steadfast your service will be.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Walking with God brings the expectation of trials and tribulations.

Philippians 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

2 Timothy 3:12 KJV Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

1 Thessalonians 3:3-4 That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. 4For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

1 Peter 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Anything that is not of faith toward God is sin.

Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

2 Timothy 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

That pretty much sums it up.
